Introduction to

Gestalt Coaching

2-day Experiential Workshop

Coaching enables and empowers individuals and teams to move in the direction of what they aspire for. When Gestalt principles and frameworks are applied to Coaching, the process becomes even more potent. Gestalt Coaching is unique and holistic – it

helps people develop higher awareness of their intra-personal and inter-personal state so that they can make meaning of their present experience as well the potential impact on their thoughts, choices and behaviours. This helps people get ‘unstuck’ from repetitive and destructive patterns.

The Gestalt Coaching process helps identify where the Client is, what is interrupting his/her progress and how he/she can leverage the wisdom in the resistance for positive and sustainable change.

This 2-day experiential Workshop explores the world of Gestalt coaching and provides a window into how Gestalt principles and tools can be integrated with any coaching model or framework. In this Workshop, you will explore the following Gestalt coaching tools:

  • The Paradox of Change: Understanding how change really happens and tracking how people learn and change

  • Unit of Work: Shaping a powerful coaching conversation

  • The Relational Field: Co-creating a strong and trusting Coach-Client relationship

  • Self as an Instrument of Change: Using Self to create awareness for the client

  • Embodied Presence: Embodying and expanding what you notice in the field

  • Resistance: Working with and leveraging resistance positively

  • Experiments: Deepening awareness and encouraging action through small experiments

Workshop Structure & Support:

  • Experiential and discussion-based.

  • 2 days (16 hours) of classroom sessions, with practice and feedback.

  • 2 support Webinars after the classroom sessions.

This Workshop is useful for practising coaches who would like to integrate Gestalt principles into their coaching practice, irrespective of the coaching model they use.
